Pavlovsk is one of the most romantic imperial residences around Saint-Petersburg. It was a gift from Catherine the Great to her son Paul I to celebrate the birth of his firstborn. Pavlovsk was a family summer residence of Paul. The palace is constructed in classical style and surrounded by a giant English-style park with a total area of 1500 acres. The palace interiors are the best preserved in suburbs, there are a lot of original furniture and belongings, all of them were saved in evacuation during the WWII. After the palace we can walk around the park or take a horse carriage and totally enjoy the atmosphere of the 18 century.
