Private guide in St. Petersburg
Alexandria Cottage Tour in St Petersburg

Tour overview:

Alexandria is a very romantic imperial residence in suburbs of Saint-Petersburg. It was a family summer estate of Nicolas I. He was happily married and had 7 children and he was the first emperor who separated his obligations of being the emperor from his private life. So this residence was absolutely private in contrast to other imperial residences. You can find here a very cozy English-style villa surrounded by the flowers and beautiful park. The interiors are original from the 19 century, they haven’t been destroyed during the WWII, that’s why you can literally feel how the family was living here.

We booked a random tour with Maria because we visited St Petersburg last year with her and saw all the famous museums. This time we just wanted to see a bit of local life and something unusual. Alexandria, Kronshtad and Gatchina became the higlights of our stay. Maria see you next year!

Alexandria might not be the first choice if you have only two days in St Petersburg. We booked the tour and it was nice but we could have seen something more significant.
