The Hermitage is the biggest museum in Russia and one of 3 biggest museums in the world. They say if you want to see everything here it will take about 16 years. But 2-4 hours will be enough to explore the main highlights. It has many branches. The main is the General Complex which consists of 5 buildings, the  most famous is the Winter Palace. During the tour you will enjoy the beautiful interiors where the imperial family used to live and the highlights of European collections.

After the General Complex you can continue the tour and head to another building named the General Staff of Headquarters. We loved the tour but the crowds are exhausting!

Maria did her best not to get lost in the madness of Chinese tourists. The Impressionists collection was amazing! It was spacious and not crowded at all.

Maria is a truly outstanding guide. She was navigating our group in the museum like a pro and the same time telling all the stories of the paintings. If you have a chance to get her on tour, don't hesitate.
